Web Design?

I wasn’t born aware of my passion for web design. In fact, I never once thought that I would end up being a Web Designer.

I remember when I had to choose my field of studies back in high school. I was in a state of panic, I wanted to do and try so many different things… I followed my counselor's advice. He knew that I liked to work with computers so he suggested that I take up Documentation technique. Once in CEGEP, it dawned on me pretty fast that I wasn't in the right field and that it had very little to do with computers. I had to choose something else.

At that time, a friend of mine was maintaining a website of her own and she showed me the basics of HTML. I thourougly enjoyed myself and started my own website with a discussion forum where my friends could chat and have fun. It never occured to me one could make a carreer out of that.

With good abilities in sales and marketing, I decided to take up another field of studies: Marketing and Administration. I loved the courses and the sales field until the day I realized I wasn’t cut for the job. That came to me as a shock, I was 25 years old, had a crappy part time job with rent to pay and no serious carreer plan in sight after 5 years of CEGEP and still no diploma. I then asked myself what could possibly be stimulating? What could challenge my creative and technical abilities? It then occured to me, why not try something I thouroughly enjoyed doing? The next day, I took a course in Web and Graphic Design.
